Analysis of the Performance of Chamfered Finite-Length Journal Bearings under Dynamic Loads

چکیده

Misalignment is one of the most common challenges that normal operation journal bearings faces. This type problem may be result a wide range reasons, such as bearing wear, shaft deformation, and errors related to manufacturing installation process. The main undesirable consequences misalignment, pressure rise lubricant film reduction, are concentrated on edges. Therefore, chamfering edges reduces misalignment-related drawbacks. work presents novel numerical solution finite-length considering edge chamfering. involves determination levels layer thickness distribution in addition trajectory under impact load with stability limits. finite difference method used this solution, equations motion also solved numerically using Runge–Kutta method. Results analysis show increases spikes associated system case 3D misalignment. Furthermore, chamfered shows loads, where unstable critical speed by 26.98%, which has positive journal’s trajectory.
